Brief : How could we reduce the amount of waste produced by the fashion industry by employing the use of technologies such as 3D printing, AR and AI?
If anything were possible, our ideal solution would be to create a more circular design process which increases the overall life-cycle of clothing; focusing on renewing existing clothing items and thus reducing manufacturing waste.
Tailorise – an account based mobile application - is a proposed solution which promotes a more circular design cycle; increasing the life cycle of design outputs by focusing on renewing existing clothing items instead of purchasing new ones. By incorporating 3D printing, artificial intelligence and augmented reality, our app aims to re-imagine the cycle of consumer consumption, reducing fashion wastage while still maintaining economic growth, ultimately creating change by encouraging personalisation and revitalisation.
